Ropes made with UHMWPE fibers have a long life in general if you handle and store the synthetic ropes correctly. It is worth mentioning that UHMWPE ropes are losing strength when connected by a knot when being bent over a small item or spliced.

UHMWPE ropes are not affected by oil or water and are just as strong whether used in dry, cold, or wet conditions.
